OK, buying a Berkey is not exactly cheap now.
We went for the travel Berkey with stand and stainless steel tap plus sight glass.
This after very long consideration and research, weighing up pros and cons of other filters etc. So really not overnight. Yet I remained sceptical, as did my wife. Unfortunately, we have entered a time where you can no longer trust the quality of your food and water. So a while ago, I actually bought this Berkey.
Our scepticism was unfounded. Although we had some problems at first getting it leak-proof (hand-tightening the sight glass cap on top proved not to be enough), we were both pleasantly surprised.
In our opinion, the water tastes much better than from the tap and we plan to use the water for cooking our food as well.
Delivery through this company was very smooth and well organised. Any information was also quickly found here.
In hindsight, it is well worth its price.
