Berkey Water Filter Warranty Terms and Conditions
Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) offers a standard warranty on all its products against defects in materials or workmanship arising from normal use, provided they have been purchased from an authorised Berkey® dealer (such as Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV). This limited warranty does not cover product faults caused by any other reason. See below for the warranty periods for each Berkey product.
Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) and Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV cannot be held liable for incidental or consequential damage to personal property caused by, but not limited to, a faulty appliance, improper use, misuse, accident or negligence, etc. It is the customer’s responsibility to prevent misuse of the system and to replace parts when they need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. To make a warranty claim, you must provide proof of purchase for the product and you may be responsible for paying any postage costs incurred in returning the product.
This warranty does not apply to devices that have been used for purposes for which they were not intended and have been modified in a way that, in the manufacturer’s opinion, adversely affects their performance. The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is not transferable.
Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) and Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV will replace or repair any product that does not function properly during the specified warranty period (see below).
This warranty applies only to products manufactured or exclusively distributed by Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) and its authorised Berkey® dealers (such as Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV).
Warranty periods by product
2-year warranty (divided into 4 periods of 6 months)
The Black Berkey filter cartridges are covered by a two-year limited warranty, divided into six-monthly intervals. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase (invoice date). These intervals are as follows:
- Are there any faults in the months 0–6, you will receive a completely new filter element or completely new filter elements.
- Are there any faults in the months 7–12, then you get 75% discount on the purchase of a new filter element or new filter elements.
- Are there any faults in the months 13–18, then you get 50% discount on the purchase of a new filter element or new filter elements.
- Are there any faults in the months 19–24, then you get 25% discount on the purchase of a new filter element or new filter elements.
1-year warranty
All Berkey water filter housings (upper and lower chambers) and lids (with the exception of damaged models marked with the letter B) are covered by a 1-year limited warranty. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase (invoice date).
6-month warranty
The Fluoride & Arsenic filter cartridges (PF-2), Sport Berkey filter cartridges and all other Berkey products are covered by a 6-month limited warranty. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase (invoice date).
Warranty periods and exclusions
The following actions will invalidate the warranty cover:
- One of the Black Berkey filter cartridges or Fluoride & Arsenic filter cartridges (PF-2) to freeze;
- Using water from a dehumidifier and filtering it with the Black Berkey filter cartridges for everyday use;
- The breaking or damaging of Berkey products as a result of dropping, carelessness, cleaning or general misuse, as determined by Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.);
- Failure to remove the Black Berkey filter cartridges from the system before it is transported or moved, resulting in broken handles;
- Carry out a red dye test using the Berkey Fluoride & Arsenic filter cartridges (PF-2) attached to it. To ensure the six-month warranty remains valid, the Berkey Fluoride & Arsenic filter cartridges (PF-2) be removed before a red dye test is carried out;
- Using water from a water softener. Please note: this action may Black Berkey filter cartridges clog it up, cause the stainless steel to rust or make dents in it;
- Using salt water with Berkey filter cartridges (Black Berkey and Fluoride & Arsenic (PF-2));
- If the product is not used in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations or instructions;
- Berkey filter cartridges (Black Berkey and Fluoride & Arsenic (PF-2)) in a manner not authorised by Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.)
