Big Berkey Water Filter Set – Berkey is one of the best-selling brands of water filters and purification systems worldwide and is recommended by various health magazines, laboratories and independent health websites. It has millions of satisfied customers around the world.
Berkey water filters remove more than 99.9% of chlorine, viruses, bacteria, cysts, pharmaceutical residues, parasites and hazardous chemical contaminants. Heavy metals are filtered out at a rate of 95% (up to almost 100% even with fluoride and arsenic filters). The essential minerals your body needs are retained in the process.
The Big Berkey water filter comes as standard with 2 original Black Berkey filter cartridges and can be extended to 4 elements. Black Berkey filter cartridges utilise the latest technological developments in water purification. Berkey water filters are therefore regarded as the best and most sustainable water filtration systems on the market and are the best-performing portable water filters. The Black Berkey filter cartridges have been tested by an independent laboratory in accordance with NSF/ANSI standards 42 and 53. See the laboratory report for further details.
The unit has a capacity of approximately 8.5 litres of water, which is more than enough for most purposes. You can use the Black Berkey filter cartridges for several years, meaning you’ll quickly recoup the cost of the unit compared to other brands of water filters.
The housing is made of polished stainless steel (304), ensuring long-term durability.
The Big Berkey water filter set (special offer) consists of the products listed below. Click on the item numbers for more information about the individual products. The products in the set:
– Big Berkey Water Filter 8.5L (includes 2 Black Berkey cartridges) – item no. BRBK4X2-BB
– Stainless steel tap for Berkey systems – item no. BRSPIGOT-SS
– Stand for Big Berkey water filter – item no. BRMEDBASE
You can easily assemble the Big Berkey in a matter of minutes without any tools. The first step in setting up a Berkey water filter is to prime the Black Berkey filter cartridges. It is important that this is done properly, otherwise it will take a very long time to purify the water. For full details about Berkey water filters, please refer to our library, which includes user guides, instructional videos and answers to frequently asked questions. If you’re unable to prime the system using the tap, then a automatic primer pump or manual primer pump order from us.

My new Big Berkey has been taking pride of place in my kitchen for a few days now; it really is a thing of beauty on the worktop. The water certainly tastes different to tap water. It’s lovely not having to buy plastic water bottles from the supermarket any more. It’s a great size if, as well as drinking water, you want to use it for making drinks, washing vegetables and cooking. So far, I’ve been topping it up once or twice a day. I opted for the stainless steel tap: it looks great! It gives the Berkey a lovely, robust look! Priming the water filters took quite a while. I was glad I’d bought the hand pump for priming the filters as well. I suspect the water pressure from my tap was too low to do it using just the supplied prime button. In any case, I eventually managed to prime the filters using the hand pump. Now the water flows through the filter just fine. I had several questions about the Big Berkey beforehand. Tom and Melanie always provided quick, expert, clear and detailed answers. What fantastic service you provide to your customers! I can’t help but praise you! You really do put customer service first! It therefore felt like the right choice to opt for your service and the great promotional price on your online shop! Keep up the good work!
