The Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter reduces many water contaminants, including PFAS, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, etc. (NSF certified - pending).

The Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter element has been tested by independent third-party laboratories to remove or reduce a wide range of typical water contaminants found in water supplies, including: perfluorinated "forever chemicals" (PFAS, PFOA & PFOS), synthetic organic compounds - industrial and agricultural chemicals (SOCs), heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, volatile organic contaminants (VOCs), other water contaminants, unpleasant odours and tastes, and more. The Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter element does not remove essential healthy minerals such as magnesium and calcium from the water and does not change total dissolved solids (TDS) levels. Therefore, TDS values remain unchanged, but a TDS value says nothing about water quality.
The Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter element is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 (pending) for the reduction of non-health-related contaminants, i.e. aesthetic impurities such as chlorine, chloramines and particles affecting taste and odour. They are also certified according to NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 - reduction of lead contaminants (pending). NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 complies with the US Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and its requirements for lead-free pipes, as well as with the requirements of individual US states (the designation "CAN" stands for "Canada", with Health Canada working with NSF and ANSI to develop these standards for products in contact with drinking water).
The supplied PrimeEasy™ Universal Primer (or similar tool) is expandable and adapts to most tap heads and taps. This ensures smoother and more efficient operation thanks to a sealed, leak-free connection while priming your filter. Priming is a necessary step in the installation. This involves using running water from your tap to rinse production dust from the filters before first use. It also expels air from the pores of the elements, allowing the water to flow freely. The prime process is recommended when using the filter for the first time or after a long period of inactivity.
The Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter element is designed for all Berkey water filters, including the Go Berkey Kit, Travel Berkey, Berkey Light, Big Berkey, Royal Berkey, Imperial Berkey and Crown Berkey, plus most other brands of gravity water filtration systems.
The recommendation is to change this filter element every year or at a maximum of 10,000 litres (per 1 filter). The filter may need to be changed earlier, depending on the quality of the water source.

The first step is priming the Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter element. It is important that this is done properly, otherwise purifying the water will take a very long time. For all information on Berkey water filters, please refer to our library, which includes manuals, instructional videos and answers to frequently asked questions. Should priming with the tap fail, a automatic primer pump or manual primer pump order from us.
