If the flow rate decreases and/or there is dirt, limescale, or mineral deposits on the outside of the filter elements, follow these instructions to clean them:
- Empty the water filter and remove the Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter elements from the upper chamber of your water filter.
- Gently scrub the elements with a stiff brush or a (Scotch-Brite) scouring pad under cold running water (never use soap or other cleaning agents on the filter elements).
- Rinse the filter elements again and put them back into your gravity-fed water filter.
- Finally, fill the bottom chamber of your gravity-fed water filter and perform a test using red food coloring, as described in the filter instructions, to verify that the filter elements are installed correctly and that there are no internal leaks or damage.
