Ideal for use with tap water and most natural drinking water sources (including water from lakes, rivers, streams, ponds and rainwater). They are also compatible with many brands of gravity-fed water filter systems (including Berkey, British Berkefeld, ProOne, Phoenix, Aqua Logic, Monderma, Boroux, Pure Filters and Newton).<\/p>\n<p>This filter element consists of two key components. A specially formulated and unique ceramic outer layer, which provides protection against, amongst other things, bacteria, particles and microplastics. Priming is not required, and no additional filters are needed to remove fluoride. Before installation, simply rinse the outside briefly under a cold tap and, if necessary, scrub lightly with a scouring pad to remove any manufacturing residue.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend cleaning the Coldstream FTO PLUS filter cartridges once a month, as well as the housings and other parts of your water filter. Take the filter element and fit the rubber ring onto the shaft.<br \/>\n2. Insert the handle through a hole in the top tray.<br \/>\n3. Screw the wing nut onto the underside of the top housing. Once you feel resistance, it is tight enough. PLEASE NOTE! Do not overtighten it. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for any other filter elements.<br \/>\n4. Seal any remaining holes with plug-in plugs.<br \/>\n5. Place the top container on top of the bottom container.<br \/>\n6.
