These filter elements are screwed to the Black Berkey purification elements, in the lower chamber of the Berkey water filter. Berkey developed this filter to address the concerns of many who find adding fluoride to drinking water unacceptable. Fluoride has been deliberately added to many municipal water supplies in some countries since the 1950s. So, especially while travelling, these filters can be a godsend.<\/p>\n<p>New reports and studies are constantly appearing on the harmful effects of adding fluoride to drinking water. These Berkey fluoride and arsenic (PF-2) filter elements allow you to reduce the amount of fluoride in water by up to 95%. It is important that this is done properly, then the filters will also be completely clean inside.
