The benefits of magnesium taurate at a glance:

– The organically bound form: magnesium taurate

– Magnesium bound to L-taurine

– High bioavailability of elemental magnesium

– Vitamin B6 in the safe and bioavailable form of pyridoxal-5-phosphate

Organically bound

Magnesium taurate is a bioavailable and organically bound form of magnesium. Inorganic forms of magnesium, such as magnesium chloride, magnesium hydroxide and magnesium sulphate, are less bioavailable and are therefore less readily absorbed. Magnesium sulphate, for example, has a bioavailability of only 4%. This means that a dose of 200 mg of magnesium sulphate is effective for a mere 8 mg. The best forms we know of are magnesium chelates such as magnesium taurate, magnesium malate and magnesium bisglycinate. Your daily diet generally contains inorganically bound magnesium. These are the forms found in the soil and absorbed by the plants you eat every day. Examples include magnesium oxide and magnesium carbonate. Your body therefore absorbs only a small proportion of the magnesium you consume from your regular diet. Magnesium Taurate from Vitakruid therefore offers added value to your diet!

L-taurine

Magnesium taurate is a combination of the amino acid taurine and magnesium. In this combination, magnesium and taurine have a synergistic effect, which means that this form of magnesium is absorbed very effectively. This is because L-taurine is absorbed via the amino acid transport system in the small intestine. Thanks to this active transport system, the bound magnesium is rapidly released into the bloodstream, from where it is transported to the rest of your body. This ensures you derive the full benefit from the magnesium!

Elemental magnesium

A label must always state the elemental amount of a mineral. The molecular compound magnesium taurate contains 8% of elemental magnesium. That may seem like a small amount, but an elemental amount of 60 mg of magnesium derived from 750 mg of magnesium taurate can be regarded as equivalent to approximately 400 mg of elemental magnesium bound to citrate. After all, the bioavailability of magnesium bound to L-taurine is many times greater!

Pyridoxal-5-phosphate

Vitamin B6 has many scientifically proven health-promoting effects on the body. Among other things, the vitamin is beneficial for the production of red blood cells, protein synthesis and cysteine production. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (the biologically active, co-enzymatic form of vitamin B6) has better bioavailability and is safer than pyridoxine. Vitakruid uses only the P-5-P form in its products.
